Timing and Transfers

Hey Y’all! This week we had transfers and I met my cute trainee Sister Nielsen. She is from Bountiful Utah and so fun to work with already. She hit the ground running and sometimes I feel that I have to run to keep up! She is awesome and so dedicated and I feel really blessed to be training again. New missionaries always bring such a strong spirit with them and it really helps uplift the area and the other companions enthusiasm for the work:)

We had some really cool experiences with timing this week. Yesterday we were walking and knocking on doors and we stopped by a less actives house and when we got in, we found that she had to take her son to the hospital and she was in the middle of cooking and some other members came in and was just a little bit chaotic.  We were able to stay with some of the members and help out while she took her son to the hospital and I was so grateful that our planning to tract along a street had led us to her house in time to help out.  God really is watching over his children.
I just want y’all to know that I know this church is true and the power of the Book of Mormon is real.  As I’ve been reading and studying it I have realized that if we learn and live the principles taught in the BOM, we will never go astray! I am so grateful that we have the scriptures to help give direction to our lives and that we know we can be saved by obedience to it’s teachings!
Hope y’all have a great week! The old district was split up!Inline image 2

Churches and Batman

Hola Everyone! So the work continues here in the Buckle of the Bible Belt.  It’s getting hot and humid and God is helping us get through it!  This is the last week of the transfer so we are going to work hard and see some miracles before the change. Hermana Mennenga is probably leaving after 6 months here so it will be pretty sad.

We met this awesome Hindu man on Friday and he came to church on Sunday! He really liked it and said he wants to come back next week. I love these awesome experiences!

Here are some pics from the last few weeks

1: There was a dead armadillo, gross!

2: We had a sisters training for the whole mission. I got to see all my friends!!

3: Our normal Gospel Principles teacher was gone, so we had a substitute and he brought a mask. Haha I love this branch!

Hope y’all have a great week. Remember that God is always there and He is looking out for us. I read this awesome talk this morning by Elder Dale. G. Renlund. He said this that I really loved.
“My invitation to all of us is to evaluate our lives, repent, and keep on trying. If we don’t try, we’re just latter-day sinners; if we don’t persevere, we’re latter-day quitters; and if we don’t allow others to try, we’re just latter-day hypocrites.10 As we try, persevere, and help others to do the same, we are true Latter-day Saints. As we change, we will find that God indeed cares a lot more about who we are and about who we are becoming than about who we once were.”
Read the rest of the talk from 2015 General Conference, it’s so good and it pout a new perspective on what I am doing out here.  I love you, que Dios les bendiga!
