Suzy got baptized this weekend!!! It was a such a great experience to see our friend and another child of God come closer to Him and receive the Holy Ghost. She felt so happy and told me that she felt really clean and good. Yay for the spirit! I know that it touched her heart and helped her see that this Gospel can bless her life and change it for good.
This week I am realizing how important the members are in missionary work. They can really make or break a person’s progress in the church. I want to invite all of you to be the examples you can be. Include others at church, be kind, talk about appropriate things, and just do your best. I know that church is like a hospital, people go there who need help and spiritual nourishment. I understand how we are all working on things and that we should be forgiving of our weaknesses as well as others.
My testimony of the healing power of the Atonement has never been stronger. I love what President Packer said in this last General conference. “The Atonement, which can reclaim each one of us, bears no scars. That means that no matter what we have done or where we have been or how something happened, if we truly repent, He has promised that He would atone. And when He atoned, that settled that. There are so many of us who are thrashing around, as it were, with feelings of guilt, not knowing quite how to escape. You escape by accepting the Atonement of Christ, and all that was heartache can turn to beauty and love and eternity”
I know that Jesus Christ felt our pain so that he could be our advocate with the father. I love my Savior and I know He lives!
To tie in the heading….My comp wanted to change her hair a bit. little did we know that hair dye explodes after about 30 minutes of being in the bottle. great times! (see pic)
We also went to this cool record shop after zone training. The guy named Carl who owns the shop told us that if he were to convert to ‘Mormonism’, he would want us to teach him. Too bad he’s not in our area! 😦
Our investigator Suzy is getting baptized this weekend and we are so excited!!! We are praying that everything goes ok and that she stays strong for this week and forever. Yesterday she called us and said that some people from her Methodist church stopped by, after not seeing her for months!!! She thought it was interesting that they decided to stop by THE WEEK of her baptism. We got a little worried because she said “I think God is telling me something”. But then we told her that she will be tempted and have doubts and those don’t come from God. She is really understanding and I am so excited! The spirit is so awesome and I am so grateful for that gift we can always have.
We painted kids faces and talked about the Restoration at the June Fair here in Oneonta. Even though were met with opposition, it just strengthened my testimony more that this is the true church even though the world won’t accept it. There are people out there who will!
is the scripture I’m working on this week. Take your weaknesses to the Lord and they will be made strong!
I Love being a missionary, I love my Savior and I love this Gospel and His Grace. Where would we be without him! I love y’all, have a great week!
Here’s some Alabama for y’all!
